Okay firstly to the last user, a bit overboard with the comment and a bit of an exaggeration! this place is amazing! the chicken is to die for, the salads have so much flavour! the staff are so happy! and let's not forget the chips! best chips ever!! last thing the lady behind the counter i think called maggy, your on the ball and your a champion! better then garry ablett when he plays footy! (i'm a gold coast supporter)
love this place :)

Our family has been enjoying sammy's chicken for many years however recently (last 6 months or so) the quality had been terrible. on more than one occasion we have purchased a chicken and vegetables/hot sides just to find they are luke warm at best. we rang the store the first time it happend and were told the warmer was not set at the right temp. we decided to try again and received the same luke warm chicken & sides. note this was at dinner time too (around 6.30pm) - not say 8pm where you may expect this to happen.
clearly the store has fallen in to the trap of appempting to make up for diminishing sales (ie bolton st chicken) by trying to make the food last longer in the warmer by running it at a lower temp. this - especially with chicken - is a receipe for disaster.
while sammy's may have the best chips in eltham, chips will not carry this business for ever.

Wanted to say that sammy's charcoal chicken has great food and great people working in the shop. they were so kind to allow our roving acts to change in their store room on the day of the community festival. we all had lunch as well, great chicken & salad. thanks kevin & sammy. :-)

I normally go to boltin st charcoal, because they were closed on 2/01/2012 , tried sammy's charcoal. purchased 3 whole chicken/3 large chips for my family. the chicken was dry , had absolutely no taste, the chips were disgusting, very disappointing experience never to be repeated.
