Given it was chinese new year last weekend i decided to try a souvlaki rather then my usual sunday night chinese takeaway .... on reflection i really wish i hadn't! having read the comments posted by innocent bystander & ken i can't help but concur with them. the souvlaki meat had a close resemblance to rubber and the given the way it was thrown down at me i'm surprised it didn?t bounce all the way down bay street! very poor food complemented by equally poor and rude service. the 1st and last time for me ? give me mongolian beef and fried rice any day.

Nothing fresh about the food from this shop. souvlaki meat was reheated from a plastic container from underneath the counter. not freshly cut off the rotating spit. the age of the meat had tried to be covered up with excessive oil. onions and tomatoes had almost turned to alcohol, from the time they had spent floating in their watery tubs. it was like the entire dish had been reserved to me from the week before. all recycled except for the rude remarks from the owner and son. their comments were fresh and simple to understand with excessive use of obscenities. what ever happened to "the customer is always right?"

I have been going to port melbourne charcoal chicken for years. amazing food never tasted a better soulaki( must be a family recipe so tender and juicy!!!!!!. the chicken is always cooked to perfection. must try it 10/10
