Having lived in g'ton for the past 3 years, we thought we had found the best f & c in the southern hemisphere, until tonight. we are regulars at hooks, however, tonight we had the worst ever. the chips were oily and soggy, the fish was oily, soggy and thin as tissue paper. the kids never even fished theirs as the regularly do. value for money...not there...would have settled for a pie instead. come on hooks...sort it out. we are here for a few years yet.

Owner needs to chill out

I was checking out where to go for fish and chips here in gerro. i was prepared to give this venue a try - however even before i got there - to read the replies from the owner in a negative tone - put me right off.
may i suggest the owner take the critism on the chin - you aren't going to please everyone. accept that - you are only making yourself look bad here.
no i didn't give it a try...lots of others around town.

Sometimes good, sometimes expensive

I find the food at hooks can be great, but other times you spend$10 on chips and you do not have enough chips for a family of 4. the business needs to try and be consistent or it will lose customers.

Owners replay: At hooks we believe that the recommended serve of chips per adult is $2.00. We have many customers that complain that they get too many chips. For a family of 4 to feel that $10 of chips wasn't enough suggests that either that was all they had all day or that they had very large appetites. If you compare the quantity of chips we proved for $30 to any other take away ie Mc--- or Hungary J--- Kent-- Fr--- Chick--- you will find that we give a lot more.

Their fish and chips were gr8. i am a hungry guy and $2 of chips was easy enough for me. the fish was great and the serve was big. i recommend the groper my girlfriend had the snapper she said it was gr8 2. i would recommend it to anyone. try the greek salad it was tasty

Best fish and chips in geraldton

I love fish and chips and have eaten them everywhere. i recently went to hooks. they are without a doubt the best in geraldton. they use cholesterol free oil so it was good not to worry about my heart. the young girl at the counter was friendly and efficient and quite pretty i might ad.

3 for price, fish n chips is an expensive meal in australia.
hooks is ok,though sometimes inconsistent. sometimes you get alot and sometimes you only just get enough. it depends who is working i guess

Owners replay: A feed of Fish and Chips is $9.00 for Hooks. At a restaurant it is $30 + If you get a subw-- or a meal from KF or Mc D it will cost almost the same. I think that you need to reconsider
