Having read some reviews on this restaurant, i decided to take the family for dinner here. garlic pizza fantastic. ordered 2 steaks one riddles with grizzle other half was full of fat and when i say fat big chunks in the meat. service was ok however waited 45 mins for mains and was a little overpriced. will my family go back simple answer no. i am trying not to be over critical however when i take my family out and pay for a meal i expect a decent quality feed.

I gotta be honest. to me this is the kind of pizza (and service) that is holding geelong back in pizza terms. theres a few places in geelong that all seem to be using the same recipe or something (pizzaland, woodoven, kardinia cafe, texas are a few). your doomed from start to finish. getting your order taken by somebody who is not good with english and understanding what you want. then perhaps if unlucky getting your pizza made by somebody of similar charactor. finally getting it delivered by somebody who is liable to forget something or mess up something or follwed his gps half way around victoria before getting to your house. unfortuanately employers hire these people people because they can pay them a smaller wage and get away with it. im sorry to be so negative but being somebody whos made pizzas for years (in these establishments) as well as been a chef hoping to oneday open my own pizza shop this is really dissapointing. i worked with the owner of wood oven elsewhere b4 he opened this place and i know he makes wonderful pizza so it was dissapointing to order a pizza with chilli only to receive this slab of a thing that probably weighed a few kg's and was lukewarm, soggy and covered in sweet chili sauce because the foreign person on the phone couldnt decipher between chilli and sweet chili sauce. im sure if you went here during the time when mohammed the owner was cooking you would get a wonderful pizza but unfortunately your only as good as your last pizza. im sorry but i have to be honest. i may as well copy and paste this review for a few other places in the area

I love this place, try the shish kebab or the mixed grill, you wont be disappointed. i also found their website that has a menu www.woodovenpizza.com.au

try a pizza with the lot or a large plain turkish bread with a tzatziki dip or hummus great snack or meal
