 Awesome food, rubbish service

We go here all the time, and the food is always superb. but the service is sadly lacking, especially on weeknights. even though we're often the only two people in the place, we get ignored and need to get up to ask for things like more water because the waiter is staring off into space. last time we visited (sept, 2014) we were hit with charges that we never had to pay before ("extra" sauce because they only gave us half the amount, plus corkage for our byo wine which was previously free) and the young boy behind the counter was extremely rude when we questioned him about it. not good enough! people might love the food, but they will stop coming back when they get ignored and treated like rubbish. pick up your game grand court!!

Attended a birthday celebration with a party of 20. the food was absolutely amazing and very generous. very fresh and well presented. friendly staff. nothing was a problem. top spot for groups and bargain at 25 dollars per head for amazing banquet.

Have had take aways and eat ins. seems to depend what chefs are on as to the quality. some nights it is absolutely wonderful, others it tastes like left overs. particulary with the fried rice and mongolian lamb.

As a regular, i have always loved the food and the friendly service. !! it isn't the most classy of restaurants but considering its placement that is completely understandable. i will always be a lover of the grand court chinese restaurant and would recommend it any day!

I've been a regular, generally ordering the same meal, and taken occasional groups there for dinner. the meals are very nice, though it's a shame they pre-prepare the portions. last night they closed early, leaving me without dinner. i went down there tonight to grab dinner, and mentioned to them that they'd closed early last night. it seems the times on the door are a guide only, and it doesn't matter that it catches some of us out. i don't appreciate not being valued, so will be going elsewhere for now on.

Basic chinese takeaway but going downhill

Have had takeaway from here several times & have always considered it just an average chinese restaurant. it wasn't fantastic, but not terrible either - it didn't really stand out from the crowd in any way. recently though the quality seems to be dropping off. the service is still friendly but the flavours and textures of the food have become bland and not a lot of effort seems to be going into the food preparation. a shame to see a basic but honest suburban chinese restaurant starting to go downhill.

This is some of the best chinese food i have had. the rock salt squid is delicious as is the santung chicken, dried chilli beef, beef in chef's special sauce, honey prawns and beef in black bean sauce!! chicken wings are to die for!! we eat in or takeaway and the food is constantly great!!!

We have had very enjoyable food at grand court over the years. the atmosphere and service are not what they used to be but they are still reasonable if it isn't a 'special' night.
