Have eaten here a few times now and love it. the food is always beautiful and fresh and not oily. the owner is lovely and very accommodating to any extra requests like a side bowl of chilli and soy. certainly will continue to go back here as the prices are very reasonable for such good food.

Nice birthday dinner

I had my birthday dinner with my friends in this restaurant and that was a lovely meal. i'm a uni student from china and that is why i choose chinese restaurant. i've ordered beef with black bean, garlic prawn, golden junk special hot pot, duck with plum sauce, bbq pork(cha shao) and some fried vegetables. i was surprised because the quality of food was quite high which is different with the food in other chinese restaurant in hobart city and sandybay. not only those ingredients were fresh and nice, but also the seasoning and the taste of the food were right and good. the chef must be very experienced because those dishes were cooked even better than those in many restaurants back in china.
well, about the price, it is a bit expensive for a student but it is reasonable i think, especially when i saw the size of prawns.
overall, that was quire enjoyable. hope the chef could create new dishes and i would like to try.

 Disappointing

Visited this restaurant with my husband for our anniversary. service was below average, not very knowledgeable or friendly. we ordered fried rice which we were told was 'vegetarian with egg', as well as a vegetable dish and a prawn dish. the waiter brought out the rice first, which was full of ham, so we had to return that. meanwhile, we had our other two dishes without rice while we waited for the new rice to come out. the vegetable dish seemed to be swimming in a sauce that had absolutely no flavour. the prawn dish was pretty good until i noticed that the 'digestive tract' hadn't been removed properly from one prawn and it had a thick black string of poo hanging from it, which turned me off the rest of the meal. our waiter was over at our table asking how the meals were when i found this and complained. he seemed panicked and scurried off for a few minutes before coming back with a plate and taking it away without saying anything. i was waiting for the rest of the meal for them to offer some kind of discount or free drink or something, but they didn't even offer an apology. they just brought out the bill. my husband queried this and after waiting for a long time for someone to come back to our table, we received an amended bill with a $3 discount, which was literally just the cost of the prawn we had returned. $30 meal = 10 prawns. just lacking overall. decor is cheap and crappy also. not recommended.
