After my experience there i will never go back to that store again the chips were over salted and the potato scallops were under cooked this is the second time this has happened at this store, the staff were pleasant when i called to tell them and offered a refund or a replacement which i took neither i will just never go back there till the ownership has changed

I have to agree with cameron, the previous owners just had it right. i think the current owners changed the way the chickens were cooked and are a bit like supermarket ones and not very consistent. but the salads are always fantastic and the staff are really nice. i heard it has been sold so i hope the new owners do well as this is a business ballina cannot afford to lose as it has been there a long time.

Yes this was the best chicken place in ballina, i knew the previous owners - however, it changed hands. the new owners must have taken a page out of the red rooster handbook and started cooking their chickens in the "just barely cooked" fashion - ala red rooster, straight away. the chips are still good but they dropped their quality on those almost from day one - not sure if they've changed in the last 12 months but i would hope they'd realised what they'd done. ballina has many other great quick food outlets as competition for them to be trying to get the most out of the business at the potential expense of quality and fully cooked chickens. my rating for food is only 3 out of 5 - average. the reviews that give it 100% are probably those of the owners or their friends. this business is still worth a look, especially on the way back from the beach with the kids, but it's not what it was.
